COOK-A-LOKA SHOW:  Food, Music & Laughter All in One Show

What do you get when you combine the Filipinos’ love of food with their love of music, and unique sense of humor? Cook-a-Loka!

Cook-a-Loka is a fun, interactive pseudo-cooking demo show at Mabuhay Restop in Rizal Park that features a crazy, zany, singing cook demonstrating the preparation of a full-course Filipino meal.

Cook-a-Loka is not an ordinary cooking show since the Chef and his assistants intersperse the cooking demo with lively and interesting songs and dances, in which the audience is invited to participate.  Audience members also help in preparing dishes which they get to taste in the end.  The dishes in Cook-a-Loka are well chosen to reflect facets of Philippine cuisine. The show also creatively shares about social entrepreneurship with Bayani Brew and Golden Eggs.

Social Enterprise

As a way of highlighting nation-building in addition to promoting Philippine cuisine, the show creatively introduces the concept of social entrepreneurship through Golden Eggs (a healthier alternative to red salted eggs) and Bayani Brew (all Filipino iced tea) which originated from the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm in Bulacan.

Talented Performer

The zany Cook-a-Looka Chef Frito Sipsip Supsup character is played by talented stage actor Dio Marco who is a perfect fit for the role:  he was the lead in the successful musical “Magsimula Ka”, he was one of the lead gondoliers in the Venetian Macau where he is still fondly remembered by visitors, and he loves to cook and runs his own “carinderia” called “Cooking ng Ina Mo.”  His Bicolano mother taught him and developed his love for cooking even as a child, which he now gamely shares with his audience.

Come enjoy Cook-a-Loka at Mabuhay Restop with your own group, family and friends!
